Austin, Are You Ready to Protest and Appeal Your Property Taxes?

Well, good morning Austin, TX. You are the state capitol of Texas, the tech hub of Texas, and the music capitol of Texas. You’ve also got the fastest growing real estate values in Texas, which means you’ve also got some of the highest property taxes in Texas. Some of the above is good, and some of it is bad.

We’re coming to your city soon (mid-March to be exact) and we’re going to bring the same property tax services and data to you that we did to Houston. We’re excited, if you can’t tell. The process to fight your property taxes will be the same in Austin as it is in Houston. You’ll need to file your property tax protest before May 31st, wait for your hearing date, and then attend and present the evidence we give you to the Travis County Appraisal District (traviscad.org). You’ll go to your informal hearing first, and if you cannot come to an agreement there, you’ll go to your formal hearing at a later date. If you do not get a reduction after completing the process, we’ll refund you in full.

We’re going to do our best to give you an education and the evidence it’ll take to reduce the value of your home with the appraisal district, and help you pay less in taxes. Don’t mess with Texas? Well, we won’t, but Texas shouldn’t mess with our taxes. We’re Texans, and we’re going to help you fight your property taxes in Austin. Your passion + our knowledge = a big win for both of us.
